Introducing Scott Sifen
Join us in celebrating Scott Sifen, our Program Director, and explore how his leadership is driving innovation at e4health.

Can you walk us through your career path and how it led you to your current role at e4health?
I spent the first 10 years of my career at Cerner, where I worked as an integration consultant primarily in the PathNet, Core and PowerChart spaces, and then moving up into the Integration Architect and Engagement Leader roles. I also got international exposure, working in UK, Ireland and Australia.
Since leaving Cerner, I’ve assumed leadership roles working for healthcare providers (Kaiser Permanente and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta), and Management Consulting (Deloitte, Tegria and independent). This has led me to e4, where I have been the Client Executive at McLaren the last 2+ years.
I began at McLaren as Program Director for Cerner Wave 5 implementation, and for the last year and a half I’ve been Program Director for their PACS program. On the PACS program, I’ve assisted growing e4’s footprint both with McLaren as well as our capabilities within e4 to deliver both strategic and implementation projects for McLaren.
What aspects of your work at e4health ignite your passion for improving healthcare outcomes?
I am passionate about creating value for our clients. We should aim to deliver value to our clients that exceed the cost of our work. e4health gives me the autonomy to manage the work to a win-win situation, where e4 meets its profit goals as a byproduct of creating value for the client rather than as a byproduct of maximizing the number of hours we can charge on an invoice.
At e4health, we pride ourselves on WEGROW values. Which of these values resonates most deeply with you, and can you share a specific instance where you’ve embodied this value in your day-to-day work?
The Win/Win opportunity is where I think e4 shines. We bring the best people to the table and our clients recognize that we are both easy to work with and that we do what we say we’re going to do. They win because we’ve succeeded, frequently where others have failed. Because we “Get Stuff Done” it keeps our clients as customers, meaning we win in the long term.
How long have you been with e4health, and what aspects have motivated and engaged you through your tenure?
I’ve been with e4health since December 2023. A lot of what I bring to the table melds some of my prior roles in much larger firms with larger grow from within mind sets. As a leader within the firm, I try to work with our people not just on what we deliver, but how we deliver it. In the case of the PACS program at McLaren, we are there because the people the client removed did not understand this distinction.
Are there any interesting facts about you that your colleagues may not know?
Within e4 and at Mclaren, I’m frequently recognized as putting together high quality PowerPoint slides or templates. They would call me a “9” or “10.” I’m sure most reading this with a Cerner background will immediately understand this does not come from my early career. Yes, we did a lot of ‘deck work’ at Kaiser, but this skill primarily comes from the ‘sink or swim’ life of a Deloitte Manager, where I’m sure they’d still think of me a solid “5” or “7” on a good day.
The other anecdote I’ll provide is I own being very good at Excel. I’ve created many pretty cool spreadsheets over the years. In fact, McLaren has taken my budget management spreadsheet and uses as their template for all Program Managers. I’m frequently asked where I learned how to create some spreadsheet, and my response is always, “This is nothing. You should see my college football pool;” we play all the Bowl Games; let me know around Thanksgiving if you want to join!
When you are not focused on your work at e4health, what activities or interests do you pursue that help you recharge and find balance?
I love international travel, so if I don’t have a trip on the books I’m usually looking for an excuse to make plans. My next trip is to Milan for a few days, then taking a train to Zermatt to ski the Matterhorn for a week, and then being a foodie in Zurich for a few days. When I’m not traveling, I’m trying to motivate myself to improve my very poor golf game or spending time with family and friends.
What goals does Scott have for his future at e4health?
My goals are to help grow the e4 business through relationship-based selling. I think this is a huge gap in our approach where we frequently lose opportunities because we don’t have the right people in the room before the buying decision is made. When I hear leaders talk about “rebuilding what we’ve done at McLaren” at other sites, that translates to McLaren frequently comes to us directly telling us they have a business problem and to deliver them a SOW to solve it; no other questions asked. That’s where we need to be with all of our strategic accounts.
