Introducing Tim Brennan
Join us in celebrating Tim Brennan, our Senior Director of Healthcare IT and Operations Consulting, and explore how his leadership is driving innovation at e4health.

Can you walk us through your career path and how it led you to your current role at e4health?
Prior to working at e4health. I started my healthcare career helping physician practices and hospitals transition to electronic billing and benefit inquiry. During that time, I get exposed to Project Management as a discipline. I completed two courses that were key to my development: Project Management was the first, Problem Solving and Decision Making was the second.
From there, I spent about 16 years working as a project manager for two healthcare software companies. One focused on HIM, the other provided bed-side patient safety solutions for hospitals. That background in project management in a variety of healthcare areas led me to e4health.
What aspects of your work at e4health ignite your passion for improving healthcare outcomes?
I very much enjoy working with our clients and, more specifically, getting involved with their initiatives to make healthcare better. I love the opportunity to learn new things and the NOT being the smartest guy in the room. It gives me the chance to ask questions that others are probably thinking but afraid to ask. Asking those questions, though, often ignites conversation that leads to fresh ideas and improved workflows.
At e4health, we pride ourselves on WEGROW values. Which of these values resonates most deeply with you, and can you share a specific instance where you’ve embodied this value in your day-to-day work?
The two that stand out most for me are Respectfully listen, challenge & support each other and Win/Win. The art of true collaboration requires active listening and the opportunity to question, debate, and compromise to drive to the best outcome. And Win/Win is big. I’m only successful at what I’m doing if it is contributing to the success of my customer.
How long have you been with e4health, and what aspects have motivated and engaged you through your tenure?
I’ve been with e4health 11 years. There has always been a measure of tenacity and hustle that is an undercurrent in our culture and I love that. And I’ve had the opportunity to apply my project management background to a wide variety of projects – it is never dull.
Are there any interesting facts about you that your colleagues may not know?
When I graduated from college, I knew one thing for sure. I had no interest in the two fastest growing industries – IT and healthcare – and I wasn’t going to be working in either. I landed a job at J. Crew’s corporate office and eventually was working on catalog design (back when they made catalogs). While I loved everything about the work, the pay was awful and living in NYC was expensive. Fate had other plans for me and healthcare IT is where I’ve been for 30 years.
What goals does Tim have for his future at e4health?
This one is a little difficult for me. I’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to both work with our customers as a project manager and support our internal teams by becoming an operational manager and director. It has been great to be able to keep the PM skills sharp, serve our internal team members to ensure they have what they need to do great work and be involved with aspects of new business development. I guess I’m game for wherever I can provide the most value.
