Hello colleague,
September is always a special month for the CDI community as we take time to recognize and celebrate CDI Week. While our day-to-day work can move quickly, this month gives us an opportunity to reflect on how much the CDI profession has evolved—and, more importantly, the impact CDI professionals make every day.
CDI has grown far beyond its traditional roots. Today’s CDI professionals are clinical thinkers, educators, collaborators, problem-solvers, and trusted partners across their organizations. Whether working to strengthen the accuracy of the patient’s clinical story, engaging providers, supporting quality initiatives, navigating denials, or adapting to new technology, the work continues to become more complex—and increasingly important.
As I continue to connect with our customers, CDI leaders, and our own e4health team, I’m continually reminded that the strength of CDI really comes down to its people. That feels especially fitting with this year’s “Knights of the CDI Round Table” theme, as we recognize the people who bring their knowledge, experience, and perspectives to the table every day. The knowledge, curiosity, and commitment to continuous improvement within this profession are truly worth celebrating.
In recognition of CDI Week, we hope you’ll take some time this month to celebrate your teams and the contributions they make to their organizations and the patients they serve. We’re also excited to continue bringing the CDI community together through education, shared insights, and opportunities to learn from one another. You'll find more resources and information throughout this month's CDI Insider.
As always, the e4health team is here as a resource. Whether you're evaluating the quality of your CDI program, working through a staffing or operational challenge, looking for education, or simply interested in hearing what other organizations are doing, we always welcome the opportunity to connect and collaborate.
Happy CDI Week, and thank you for everything you do to advance the CDI profession. I hope you enjoy the September edition of the CDI Insider!
Warm regards,
