e4health On-Demand Coding Services - Press Release 2026

Everything Else Is On Demand.
Your Coding Coverage Should Be, Too!

Introducing e4health On-Demand Coding Services: qualified remote production coders matched to your specialty and schedule, with a flat hourly rate, no subscription, and no minimums. Pay only for the hours you use and adjust your coverage as your needs change. This new offering gives coding leaders a flexible way to keep work moving through staffing gaps, volume spikes, and the approaching holiday season.

The launch also follows Black Book's announcement today of its expanded 2027 mid-revenue cycle research framework, in which e4health was named the #1 client-rated vendor in Clinical Denial, Appeal and Documentation Recovery Services, one of 19 new categories built around accountability for outcomes between the clinical record and the claim.

The recognition builds on e4health's #1 ranking in HIM Advisory for three consecutive years (2024–2026) and reflects what on-demand clients can expect: coding that holds up when payers push back.

A Short Window of Senior Health IT Capacity Just Opened

Our Healthcare IT Operations & Consulting team brings program and project managers, health IT specialists, and revenue cycle consultants who have run these initiatives before: Epic and Oracle Health go-lives, legacy decommissioning, testing and integration, application and ERP support.

A limited number of these consultants come available in the next few weeks. If you have a major initiative landing in Q4 or early 2027, now is the time to lock in the team.

📉 Medicare Lab Payment Changes Could Affect More Than 1,100 Codes
Preliminary Medicare laboratory payment rates for 2027 could reduce reimbursement for more than 1,100 test codes, with annual reductions capped at 15% through 2029. The rates remain subject to public comment before finalization in November, making this an important development for organizations assessing laboratory revenue and preparing next year’s budgets.

💰 Draft Proposal Takes Aim at Automatic Medicare Advantage Downcoding
A draft legislative proposal would prohibit Medicare Advantage plans from automatically downcoding physician claims. An alternative approach would require evidence of excessive upcoding, notification to the physician, and a 90-day limit on automatic reductions. Although the proposal is not law, it reflects growing attention to payment transparency and the administrative burden of challenging claim adjustments.Source: Medical Economics
🔄 Electronic Prior Authorization & the Push to Keep 2027 Implementation on Track
The AMA is urging CMS to maintain the January 1, 2027, implementation timeline for electronic prior authorization and reject requests for broad enforcement delays. The transition aims to replace fragmented manual processes with connected electronic workflows. Reliable technology, clear documentation requirements, and staff training will be essential as providers prepare for changes intended to reduce administrative work and care delays.Source: American Medical Association (AMA)
