Homelessness codes in the SDOH section of ICD-10-CM are now Complications/Comorbidities effective with October 1, 2024 discharges. This is due to a higher average cost to care for such individuals.

Z59.12, Inadequate housing facilities
Z59.19, Other inadequate housing
Z59.811, Housing instability, housed, with risk of homelessness
