Neo-atherosclerosis of Coronary Artery Stent (1Q 2025 Coding Clinic)

What is the correct code for neo-atherosclerosis of the coronary artery stent?

T82.855A, Stenosis of coronary artery stent, initial encounter, for the occluded stents that were found to have neo-atherosclerosis.

Since the atherosclerotic plaque forms on the stent itself, a complication code is appropriate.

This could lead to thrombosis and/or restenosis if not treated.
