Excessive Dynamic Airway Collapse (EDAC)

Excessive Dynamic Airway Collapse (EDAC) refers to a condition where the posterior tracheal membrane excessively bows forward into the airway lumen during expiration, causing dynamic narrowing.

Asymptomatic most of the time and is often associated with other airway disorders like COPD or asthma and can be a cause of exertional dyspnea.

Assign code J98.8, Other specified respiratory disorders, to capture EDAC.
